North Road Widening

Tybo contracting was selected by the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure to Construct the first phase of the 1.4 Billion dollar evergreen Line. This project will see rapid transit extended from the existing Lougheed station  through Burnaby, Port Moody and Coquitlam and completing at the Douglas college on Pinetree way in Coquitlam.

In order to construct the overhead Guide ways tybo was required to widen a 2 km section of North Road from Laugheed Highway to Como Lake Ave and relocate all the existing utilities. In addition Tybo added a new underground Hydro infrastructure network.

This was a very challenging project from a traffic management stand point. Both vehicular and pedestrian traffic were very heavy throughout construction, Tybo had to coordinate construction activities with multiple stakeholders, residents and business owners to ensure their needs were met. Tybo’s professional approach to these needs kept disruption to a minimum and the construction on schedule through the duration of the 6 month $5.5 million project.
