Port Coquitlam Storm Detention Tanks
Tybo Contracting was retained by The City of Port Coquitlam to complete the $800,000 Broadway Street Storm Detention System. The project was designed to store the storm water which was displaced by the construction of Broadway Street in 2010. At its capacity the tank will hold up to 4,500,000 litres of water.
The project involved 7000m3 of excavation, the installation of concrete box culverts and the construction of 4500m3 of brentwood storm tanks encapsulated in drain rock. Once completed the area was repaved to existing grades and re-established as a parking lot. Completed under budget and ahead of schedule, this project is another example of Tybo’s versatility.
